Principal Peter Brooks made a trip to the airport this week to farewell Andrew Bartlett, who won't be back at school for 12 months as he embarks on the biggest assignment of his life. It was the willingness to be challenged, experience something new, and learn spanish that won Andrew a rotary exchange to Argentina for the year. See image.

End of year prize giving is always a chance to reflect on the year's achievements and be entertained by the best of the year's Dance, Music and Kapahaka performers. Around 600 Freyberg students filled the Lido Aquatic Centre partying the night away in the second annual Freyberg Festival. The event was funded completely by students reducing litter and graffiti around the school. They saved $6500 and paid for the Lido, as well as bands, free food, drink, and even some giant inflatable activities... Read More.

Competing against 30 bands from almost a dozen lower-North Island schools, Freyberg's four groups dominated the competition. All four groups reached the top eight, and between them won five of the eight major prizes including the overall major prize. Read More.
Freyberg retains the trophy for the third year running after beating Kapiti College in their annual sports exchange. Freyberg was awarded the 'Sport Challenge Cup' after a day of competition over a range of sporting disciplines, winning 6 - 5 overall with a draw in Badminton. Read More.
