2008 Athletics Finals
On an exciting day at Massey Athletics Track,
two records were broken amidst the colour and noise of Freyberg's Athletics
Finals. Stacey Gunn managed to break both long jump and triple jump records
that have remained unbeaten for many years.
In the ever-competitive inter-house competition, certain Manawatu runners were noted for entering every event they possibly could (coming last in many of those). Initial results show Kapiti House as victors, matching their winning performance at Athletics Preliminaries.
Other highlights include lunchtime performances, house colours, Sausage sizzles, free Ice Cream, and the staff vs student relays. The staff relay team managed to beat the senior girls, however the senior boys race went a little differently. With accusations of obstruction and pushing, the staff came dead last in the boys relay race.
