Freyberg offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, and values student involvement in the wider life of the school.

Sports Teams

Summer Sports offered at Freyberg include Athletics, Cricket, Equestrian, Tennis, Touch, Volleyball and Water Polo.
Popular Winter Sports are Basketball, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, and Soccer.

We are always keen to have parents involved with our sports teams. If you are able to manage, coach or support a team please contact us.

Freyberg's Sports Academy offers specialist training for elite sportsmen and sportswomen. The academy has been home to several World Champions in different sports.

Cultural Activities

Kapa Haka, Dance and Drama at Freyberg Freyberg has a strong Kapa Haka programme, winning regional competitions with it's top group, and providing regular opportunities perform for it's students.

Freyberg is also a leading school for Dance in the Manawatu, from hip-hop to tap to cheerleading.
There are also plenty of Drama and speech opportunities at Freyberg with annual productions and stage challenge always popular.

Freyberg's Music department has several bands, orchestras and choirs, as well as smaller jazz, string and rock groups for students to play and sing in. The instrument learning programme provides music lessons for over 300 students each week.
