School Kapa haka
Freyberg has junior and senior Kapa Haka groups who perform regularly at local Powhiri, Tangi and other important occasions.

Te Piringa
Freyberg is the host school for Te Piringa, a composite kapa haka group made up of performers from four Palmerston North schools, the majority from Freyberg. It’s purpose is to grow and nurture kapa haka within each school so that one day each school will be able to field over forty performers on their own.

The group regularly dominates the regional Manawatu Paetaiohi Secondary Schools Kapa Haka Competition. And in 2012 Te Piringa came second in the national Secondary Schools Kapa Haka Competition, competing against 35 other regional finalists from around the country.
