Winter Sports general information
All sporting teams are dependant on sufficient students entering to play. We cannot enter teams into competitions until students/players are registered. We encourage students to get registered as soon as we open registrations.
Students must read the daily notices EVERYDAY to find out information about when registrations are opening for different sports, meetings that are happening, trial information etc. If the daily notices are not read out during whanau time, they can be accessed through the portal or be found on the noticeboards outside the Sports Room, out in the quad, or the top of c -corridor. We also have a Sports Room Facebook page that we share all of our information on. Please Click here to access that page.
- Coaches and Managers are a very important part of our sports teams. We are always looking for volunteers to help make the teams a success. In a world where everyone is busy, we are really open to coaches working in pairs, before school trainings, etc so it can fit into coaches schedules. If you are undecided about coaching, please talk to us so that we can make it work for you.
- Payment options can be discussed with the Sports Room and we encourage automatic payments. In some sports we can offer a reduction in fees for those students who commit to umpire or referee for the season. Talk to the Sports Room about this.

- When a uniform is provided by the school it MUST be returned in a complete, clean and tidy condition at the end of each season. If lost or damaged a replacement cost will be charged. A tracksuit may be required for some top teams and a small hireage fee will be charged. Rugby, Football and Hockey socks can be purchased and picked up from the Sports Room as well as mouthguards and Rugby shorts.
- Referees and umpires are a necessary part of sport. All of our fantastic sport providers offer great training and support to those students (and parents) who want to learn how to officiate sport. There are very clear pathways for those who wish to climb through the umpiring or refereeing levels from basic beginner to regional levels. Credits can also be earnt in Rugby and Football refereeing. Some sports also offer payment to those who commit to their programme and in some instances the Sports Room can offer reduced fees to those who referee/umpire for the season. Please talk to the Sports Room about this.
Any questions please contact Golda or Megan in the Sports Room down C Corridor.
