Mathematics Teacher
Freyberg High School | Permanent, Full-Time | Starting Term 1, 2026.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic team form term 1, 2026. The successful candidate will inspire and engage students across Years 9–13, delivering high-quality teaching that supports learners of all abilities.

  • Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assess and report on student progress effectively.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.

 We are seeking:

  • A qualified and registered teacher with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand (or eligibility to register).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Experience teaching NCEA Mathematics is highly desirable.

Food and Nutrition / Hospitality Teacher
Freyberg High School | Permanent, Full-Time | Starting as soon as possible.

​​​​​​​We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated teacher to join our Vocational Pathways Faculty and teach Food and Nutrition and Hospitality across a range of year levels.

The successful applicant will be a qualified and registered teacher with a strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and a genuine enthusiasm for these subject areas. You will be adept at creating engaging and relevant learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs and interests.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective Food and Nutrition and Hospitality lessons.
  • Assessing and reporting student progress in line with school policies.
  • Contributing to the development and review of curriculum and resources.
  • Maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified and registered teacher with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
  • Has a strong knowledge of Food and Nutrition and Hospitality principles and practices.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is passionate about student achievement and well-being.
  • Is a collaborative team player.

There may also be an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to take on the role of Head of Department. This leadership position would suit an experienced teacher with proven organisational, curriculum development, and team leadership skills.
