Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I wanted to take this opportunity to explain to you what is happening for the balance of this years and the start of next year. The changes to the timing of NCEA exams have forced a number of other changes upon us as we have had to change venues for prizegiving’s and adjust other elements accordingly.

1. The NCEA exams for seniors this year now run from Monday 16^th November to Wednesday 9^th December 2020. Students in Years 11, 12 and 13 can be at home studying when they do not have an exam or use the study facilities at school.
2. Year 9 and 10 students are in normal timetabled classes until Friday 4^th December 2020.
3. The school is closed for all students on Friday 27^th November 2020 so that all teachers can take part in NCEA training run by the Ministry of Education across New Zealand to prepare for the upcoming changes to NCEA.
4. The Junior Prize giving will be held at the Silks Lounge at the Awapuni Racecourse on Monday 7^th December 2020 at 7.00pm. Only students receiving prizes or getting leadership positions in 2021 are required to attend. Those who are receiving prizes will be notified by email and will be expected to attend rehearsal on the morning of Monday 7^th December. Details will be in the email.
5. The Senior Prize giving will be held, again, at the Silks Lounge at the Awapuni Racecourse on Tuesday 8^th December 2020. Only students receiving prizes or getting leadership positions in 2021 are required to attend. Those who are receiving prizes will be notified by email and will be expected to attend rehearsal on the morning of Tuesday 8^th December. Details will be in the email.

School resumes for students next year on Wednesday 3^rd February 2021 for those in Years 10, 11 and 12 and on Thursday 4^th February 2021 for those in Year 9 and 13. Some seniors may be required to come in for course approvals on Friday 29^th January 2021.
